THE CREATIVE PROCESS

The creative process has a paradoxical relationship to the topics, to things, to ideas. Ideas, things, topics exist in the world independent of art and artists, always present and available but they are not in quest of discussion or appropriation. The creative progress doesn't always necessarily produce new ideas and things and yet depends on meeting with them. With attention and devotion the artist must be ready to bring into play, to risk all shades of his personality. Art only originates from the act of devotion from the deepest part of the soul. Not only in interpretative art, but also in music. literature and other creative expressions of the human spirit.

The artist doesn't create new ideas, new bodies in the world. He clothes the things that he meets in new dresses, new colours, new melodies. He creates new forms of appearance which reflects his own person. To know oneself. To be realised. This meeting also means to recognise oneself as a creation, unique and unmistakable in its personal expression of creative power, which every child is born with. This creative talent is given to the world as a gift. Every child unfolds to a creative human being, when the social environment, authoritarian education, and societal structures, prejustices and power misuse don't hinder the development. A human being who can unfold himself undisturbed, will face this world with astonishment and emotion, perceive it in a new way and recreate it.

An artist, who found his expression of personality attracts others and enables them, when an understanding is present, to express their own personality freely. An easy way, so it seems. However, was our development when we were children free from misuse through parents and through society? So the process of finding oneself is accompanied by doubts and insecurity: Do the words, the gestures, the colours originate from our own creative power, or are they only an echo and a repetition of the genius who became the prototype? Only the breach to one's own creativity makes us independent from the prototypes and becomes a starting-point for a new sight of the world - towards a new art direction. The line between imitation and originality is narrow. Some artists passed over the edge, while trying to imitate, and succeeded in creating their own. Some others, still inhibited in their expression of personality, stay trapped in their imitation despite all of their efforts.
